Whatever trade we are engaged in there must be a time to do self evaluation. This is essential for progress. Company sometimes say call this a retreat or strategy session. Called it by any name, you owe yourself this duty to examine your own progress. It is a time to assess the journey and learn the lesson.
A number of my professional colleagues and I were sitting down somewhere last week and one of us asked ‘is there any correlation between life and social media activities?’ We then look at the possibility of any correlation. So here are the ten things you must note. If you can we master this, you are likely to succeed here.
You need a roadmap: Life without road map has no fun. It is wasted effort. Road map guides and leads us to where we are going. It is not uncommon to be off course once a while. Like we were made to understand Aeroplanes go off their courses many times before they reach their destination but with road map and good compass they often land safely. Social media activities need a road map or a goal to be achieved. That helps your team and the entire organization involved otherwise confusion will reign.
You may want to give up, don’t: Many practitioners understand this. At the initial stage of launch, there may not be outstanding results except if you have practiced and mastered the game so much you know the button to press. Even at that, there is no absolute guarantee. In such situation you may want to give up, don’t. That is where you need to ignite your passion.
Refine your strategy: There is nothing like everlasting strategy except with God. The dynamic of the society itself teaches a good lesson in the need for strategy refinement. Be creative with your strategy or you will be left behind.
Work with right team: we are not design to live in isolation. We need inputs from other people. But in working with others, you need right team not just anyone.
Keep giving and sharing: This is not a terrain for those who like hoarding. What you think you know may be found elsewhere online. It is better for them to find it from you. Keep sharing the little knowledge you have. Have a specific audience in mind that can benefit maximally from you and focus on them. In whatever you do, meet a need. This will deliver greater dividend.
Stop chasing fame: Those who focus o fame often miss it a big deal. Instead concentrate your effort on adding value. Fame, money, success will be an additional benefit. This may not sound right in some cases but never forget to keep this i your kitty.
Your syllabus may look the same but your question will not: Many go online and see what is working elsewhere. They then feel it is time to switch to copy and paste strategy. Life really does not work that way. Note that the context and environment are not the same. This is like copying someone with different question paper in the exam. No matter how hard you try you will still fail.
Bad news usually spread faster: bad news sell. You therefore need to constantly think before you hit the enter button. A small mistake overnight may be amplified before the day break. You should not be afraid of making mistakes though but consider your reputation before you engage in stuff.
Several ways/methods may lead you to success: do not think you will always know the right path on that there is only one way to achieve success.
Opportunities will come your way: several opportunities will come your way in your journey. Be wise enough to know what to take and what to ignore. Also be sharp enough to see opportunity in everything. As some opportunity will wear a colour you may not like.
