We live in the age of social communication and enterprise must be social to excel. No true brand with a desire to make outstanding progress today will ignore this tool. The war among Fortune 500 and other medium and small scale industries is now obvious. Everyone is digging social media to the maximum. Unfortunately this cyber war seems to be consuming some. While many are not getting result here is because they are just pushing the stuff instead of allowing it to flow naturally.

When social media tools are strategically deployed without any manipulations: buying followers and fans etc, it is easier to get the level of engagement that will achieve the goals set. The fierce war among the major and upcoming brands on social media will continue to exist. Many will be consumed while some will triumph.

In order not to be consumed, we will like to share the secret of great strategy that has delivered for some in the past three years.

 Be a good conversationalist: In every cocktail or social gathering, who usually get more attention? It is the person with good appearance and great ability to spring up, sustain a great conversation.  Many had invested so much in the aesthetic but forget to hire a great story teller who can sustain quality interaction among the community members.

Solve clients’ problems: there is no level of progress you can make if solving clients’ problem does not constitute at least 80% of your activities.  Social media success is work. You do not get tired. People who make great impact and come home with laurels understand this logic and they go after it like mad. Solve problems always is a winner’s slogan in this arena.

Challenge them to think outside the box: there are many brands out there with several solutions. If the customers must stay with you, you must constantly challenge them to think outside the box. Otherwise the bad boys will go away with the beautiful ladies. Unfortunately in real life this is what obtains in most cases. The good boys will rather stay calm and pretend they should be followed. When you do not become an inspiration to them, no one will be on your side.

Promote personal and corporate transparency: Many brands think they can thrive in secrecy. While no one will advocate you openly exposed your strategy 100%, it is not a bad idea if you desist from unnecessary secrecy acts that bind your employees.

Keep searching for the new cheese: The environment here is very dynamic and disruptive. Whenever we want to say ‘Eureka-I found it’ is the time new and effective ways of doing it better are discovered. Keep searching for the new cheese while you are working on the present. Someone says it is difficult to look up and down at the same time. You must be able to perform this magic.
