International Women Day holds tomorrow March 8,2022. For anyone who cares about a great world and cherishes happiness, tomorrow should matters.
Women are not just addendum to life. Their existence and impacts matter
The importance of tomorrow and Women is clearly demonstrated as United Nations set apart tomorrow as a day to dialogue and advance issue that affect Women.
Our world might have made progress in some of these issues. Women challenges are global as patriarchal system is yet to die. Its issues still refuse once in a while.
For the media industry, we still have a long way to go. We have made significant progress but we are still far from the mark.
For 2022 International Women Day, the theme rings a loud bell “Break the Bias’. We know several biases are still there despite the progress made.
The major Stereotypes around news content, coverage as well as opportunities for women promotion still need a lot of push if we must break the Bias really.
Tomorrow as Executive Director of Africa Foundation For Young Media Professionals, I will be stepping up conversation around these issues. My concern is to accentuate the voice of the marginalised and give hope. I will be featuring on Lagos Television ‘Morning Delight’ programme, DSTV channel 256 @ 1100am (WAT/GMT +1)
Between 1:00-2:00pm(WAT/GMT+1) again, same tomorrow ,Tuesday March 08 2022, I will be appearing on UNILAG FM Radio- 103.1mhz ‘4th Estate of The Realm’ programme.
